Advanced Audio Support

Userful supports multiple audio output configurations allowing clients to choose from multiple options for their desired use case setup. These include:

  • Onboard audio

  • Dante ALP card

  • USB Audio cards

  • End-point audio

Onboard Audio Support

The OnBoard audio output is now available to use it. This refers to the 3.5mm audio jack available on the Userful server, for servers with audio output available.

Usage

To use the OnBoard audio, operators can drag and drop the audio output from destinations in Decisions, Trends, Artistic, and Engage. The audio destination appears as CARD=PCH, DEV

For Decisions:

  1. Go to the Destinations tab in the Operations Center.

  1. In the bottom menu, click on the destination icon and search for the OnBoard audio output.

  1. Drag and drop the audio output to the destination.

  1. Connect the speaker to the OnBoard audio card to listen.

For Trends, Artistic, and Engage

Audio works for the Trends, Artistic, and Engage applications using server players.

  1. To use the OnBoard audio, go to the mapping group.

  1. At the bottom part, click on the source icon and look for the audio destinations.

  1. Drag and drop the audio destination to the mapping group.

  1. To listen to the source, you need to connect the speaker to the OnBoard audio output.

Dante ALP Card

This integration offers the ability to use advanced audio compatibility within the Userful Infinity Platform. You can now use the ALP PCI-e Dante-compatible audio card which offers 32 stereo audio outputs for the mapping groups and Operation Centers.

Installation

To install the card, you must open the server and connect the card to the PCI-e port. Once the card is installed, and connected to the Dante network, turn on the server and you will be able to see the sound outputs in the mapping group area if you are in Artistic, Trends, or Engage and in Destinations if you are in the Decisions app.

Using the audio outputs

Each application inside the Userful Platform can use the outputs except Remote. The audio destination appears as “outX”. To use the sound output you need to:

  1. Go to the destination tab in the Operation Center.

  2. In the bottom menu, click on the destination icon, and search for the outx audio destinations.

  1. Drag and drop the audio outx to the Destination tab.

For Trends, Artistic, and Engage

Audio works for the Trends, Artistic, and Engage applications using server players.

To use the OnBoard audio:

1. Go to the mapping group.

  1. At the bottom part, click on the source icon and look for the audio destinations.

  1. Drag and drop the audio destination to the mapping group.

Other Audio Devices Supported

USB Audio Cards

Userful Infinity Platform supports the Dante AVIO 2-channel USB adapter.

The configuration for the USB devices is the same as the ALP Dante. The USB appears as a CARD=Module_x

Dante Sound Output Configuration

To configure the outputs with your Dante environment, you need to use the Dante Controller Software.

  • The ALP dante appears as ALPDANTE-xxxx and the USB cards appear as AVIOUSB-xxxxx.

  • Each of the OutX matches with T-X, which means out1 ->Tx1, out2->Tx2, etc.

EndPoint Audio Support

Userful Infinity Platform supports endpoint audio through uClient Device or LG WebOS displays. With both devices, Userful supports both Server player and Client player audio.

uClient Device Audio Support

Userful Infinity platform allows the users to use the uClient device 3.5mm jack output and the HDMI which lets the Display connect to the device to use the speakers.

To enable the sound in the device:

  1. Go to the applications > mapping group.

  2. Drag and drop a source that you want to see and listen.

  3. Click on the three dots menu. A drop-down menu will appear

  4. Click on the speaker icon to increase or decrease volume.

  5. Drag and drop the display that you want to use

LG Web OS Displays

Userful Infinity also supports LG Web OS displays.

To enable the sound in the device:

  1. Go to the applications > mapping group.

  2. Drag and drop a source that you want to see and listen.

  3. Click on the three dots menu. A drop-down menu will appear

  4. Click on the speaker icon to increase or decrease volume.

  5. Drag and drop the display that you want to use.
