Walkthrough Guide

This guide explores all the main features of the Trends application. Click on the Trends application card from the Home Page to get started. The interface of this application lists all the main functions in the left navigation menu.

Mapping Groups

A mapping group helps manage content streaming to the destinations. A Mapping Group contains a Source/ Asset mapped to a Destination.

  1. Enter Details

    • Enter the mapping group Name and Description. For example, Channel Program. Mapping group to stream online marketing data dashboards of US, CA, and UK production units.

    • Enter the Latency value. Note: For a smooth streaming experience, it is important to have an ideal latency value.

    • Enter the Resolution. It is the resolution of the destination.

    • Select the GPU. The platform populates this field automatically.

  2. Drag and drop the source from the Sources panel to the mapping group. Note that the source, in this case, is a Playlist including multiple dashboard sources.

  3. Switch to the destinations panel. Drag and drop the destination(s) to the mapping group.

Playlists

A playlist consists of a series of assets(audio or video files) that are composed to play for a specific duration.

Create a Playlist

  1. Enter the Name and Description.

  2. Select the application(s) that share this playlist.

  3. Select or Create a Tag for easy access to the Playlist. To create a Tag click on the Tag drop-down menu. A cursor appears. Enter the name of the Tag and press the Enter key. The Tag gets created. Tags help sort the Playlist when there are multiple Playlists.

  4. Click Save. The Content Tab of the playlist edit screen appears on the screen.

  5. From the drop-down select the asset, and define the duration and Play Times (the number of times the asset should be played.)

  6. Click on the Details tab to edit playlist details like name, description, etc.

Multi Window

A Multi-Window Group helps configure a simple grid layout of sources on a single destination.

Create a Multi Window

  1. Enter the Name, Description, and Resolution.

  2. Select the GPU (it is detected automatically by the system).

  3. Click on the three-dot menu and then click the Edit option.

  4. The Multi-Window Aggregation screen appears.

    Use the [-] or [+] options to generate a grid on the canvas. This grid helps to map sources in line with the layout of the destination.

  5. Drag and drop the sources from the Sources panel to map them to the multiwindow.

  6. Once mapped, the content starts to stream on the display(s).

  7. Click on the three-dot menu > Interactive Viewer option to view the source content. The Interactive viewer session opens in a new browser.

Stream to Remote

You can now stream source content mapped to the mapping group and multi-window as HLS streams viewable from the Remote application.

  1. Enable the HLS Stream option.

Schedules

You can schedule an event to play content on your destination using Schedules. The schedule screen displays a calendar. You can select your view by selecting either the Month, Week, or Day option. By default, Schedules shows a Week view displaying days on the top and a timeline on the left. Let's create an event for your lobby wall to play content on January 2, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Create an Event

  1. Left Click, hold, and drag the pointer from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the calendar.

  2. The Create Event Menu appears.

  3. Enter the Event Title and details like Source and Destination(s). Note that the application automatically fills the time you selected in the previous step.

  4. Select the Recurrence, the time after you wish this event to repeat (if any).

  5. Click Save Changes. The event would appear on the calendar.
