Known Issues In Userful Infinity Version 12.9

Userful Infinity Version 12.9 is a major release with multiple enhancements and several updates for product stability and new features including:

  • Manage SSH Keys

  • Proxy settings

  • The ability to play audio files

  • Preview and publish mode in Decisions

  • Duplicate Sources

  • Global Cluster Manager (Beta)

  • uConduct 2.0 (Beta)

Concurrently, there are a few known issues in this release, which are slated for resolution in the upcoming releases. Below is a list of the known issues in 12.9, all categorized as minor, not impacting critical functions of Userful Infinity.

Note: Please follow the instructions in the migration guide while upgrading from Userful 12.8x versions to 12.9.

Minor Issues

  • If a backup contains outdated user management data (for example, outdated LDAP or SAML data), restoring the backup creates a system issue requiring factory reset. Workaround: No workaround is available currently. However, if you feel your backup contains outdated user management information, uncheck the Account data option and check only the Apps data option when you restore the backup. Moreover, ensure user management information is up to date when you create a backup.

  • When a Source is unmapped from a video wall Destination, the previously mapped content displays for a fraction of a second and disappears. Workaround: No workaround available currently.

  • When a system reaches higher capacity usage, reminders are not received though the 'Send reminders' option is enabled under Notification Channel settings. Workaround: No workaround is available currently.

  • Xorg fails to start on Proxmox VE. Workaround: No workaround is available currently.

  • uClient display shows the last frame of the previously mapped content. Workaround: Unmap the Destination.

  • The top and bottom sections of the content are cropped on displays in an Artistic Video wall whereas the entire content can be seen through Interactive Viewer. Workaround: No workaround is available currently.

  • Enabling the Operator workstation option on WebOS display does not work. Workaround: No workaround is available currently.

  • Issue with powering on/off Samsung Display Model U32J590UQN.

(a) Display color goes bad occasionally with power on display.

(b) Display is not recovering correctly with the power on display.

(c ) Occasionally the displays may not start with power on (happened specifically with model U32J590UQN with HDMI2 connection type).

Workaround: Go to System Configuration > End Points > Settings and restart the display.

  • uClient app crashes after network disruption. Workaround: No workaround is available currently.

  • Displays playing the Tableau source came back with white screen after updating from version 12.8.1 to 12.9 of Userful Infinity. Workaround: As Tableau Passports are a new feature in version 12.9, you will need to delete current tableau Sources, set up Passports, re-create Sources.

  • Displays playing Epic and Power BI Sources show black screens after reboot. Workaround: Unmap and remap the Source.

    • The Toggle CapsLock button in the Interactive Viewer does not work inside VNC Viewer Sources. Workaround:

    • To enable CapsLock, first make sure “CapsLock” is turned off. Press the right Shift key and any other key to enable CapsLock.

    • To disable CapsLock, press the left Shift key to disable CapsLock.

  • In a rare test case, triggering failover from the secondary server to the primary server using the reboot command resulted in WebOS displays with gray screens and loading states. Workaround: Reboot both servers at the same time.

  • Network Streamer Source does not recover if failover servers lose network connection. Workaround: Unmap and remap the Network Streamer Source.

  • Onboard stations and LED Media Commander do not function if the GPU is replaced. However, the primary motivation for GPU replacement is likely an upgrade from 11 x to Infinity 12x software, so reinstallation of Userful software likely corresponds with GPU replacement. Workaround: Reinstallation of the Userful Software solves the issue.

  • There is a discrepancy in LDAP integration status before and after reboot. Whereas the status shows “Action required” before reboot, it shows “Connected” after reboot. Workaround: Use the Sync LDAP option or edit the integration and click Save. Following these steps will show you the correct integration status.

  • Applying an update to the server is not logged in System Event logs. Workaround: No workaround available currently.

  • Some Engage Destinations continue to play local uClient content after unmapping. Workaround: Assign the problematic Destination back to the uClient player again and unmap it.

  • Video walls playing server content show unmapped screen status after attempting to map and play uClient content, but canceling the attempt. Workaround: Unmap and remap the video wall Destination.

  • While performing an initial setup with SSL certificates users get directed to the setup page login instead of the launcher login page. Workaround: Log in to the setup and click Finalize again.

  • uClient settings show incorrect native resolution for a 4K display - Samsung Display Model U32J590UQN after Power off/on event. Workaround: Go to System Configuration > End-Points and restart the uClients that show incorrect native resolution.
