Manage users
GCM admins must first create permission sets before they add users.
Create Permission set
The default Admin permission for your GCM account is read-only. Admins must create Permission sets to manage users and their permissions.
To create a permission set:
On the left pane of your GCM account, go to User Management > Permission sets.
Click Create Permission set at the top right corner.
Add a name and description for your Permission set.
Click Create.
You’ll see a list of available permissions with checkboxes. Select the permissions you would like to add to your Permission set.
Click Save Changes.
Create user
On the left pane, go to User Management > Users.
Click Create user at the top right corner.
Enter the username, name, and email address.
Create a password and assign a permission set to the user.
The user will be notified by email. At the first login attempt, they will be prompted to: a. Update their password b. Verify their email address.
Create Constellation and pair servers
In Infinity GCM, a Constellation is a collection of clusters. A cluster can be a single server or multiple servers.
Create Constellation
In your GCM account, navigate to Constellation Management > Constellation List.
At the top right corner, click Create Constellation.
Add a name and description, and click Create.
Pair a server
Click on a Constellation.
Click Generate Pairing Code at the top right corner. A panel appears on the right side.
Copy the pairing code and the URL.
Log in to your Userful Infinity Platform and go to the Admin Center > System Configuration > General Settings.
Under General Settings, enable Global Cluster Manager Pairing. A panel appears on the right side.
Enter the pairing code and the URL.
Click Begin Pairing.
If the pairing is successful, a Connected status appears next to the GCM URL under the Global Cluster Manager Pairing option.
Navigate back to your GCM account. Under Constellations, you should be able to see the paired server details.
Click the outward arrow next to the system name to access the server. Note: To access the Userful system, you should be in the local network or connected via VPN.
You can also click on the server name to view two tabs: Content overview and Nodes.
Under Content Overview, you can see the number of Mapping Groups, Active Sources, Active Destinations, Endpoints, Nodes, Average GPU Load and Average CPU usage.
Under Nodes, you'll be able to view the server. Clicking the server will show monitoring data related to your system, network, GPU, CPU, storage and capacity.
You can pair as many servers as you want in a Constellation.
The Infinity GCM shows you live updates of the number of mapping groups, endpoints, GPU and CPU consumption.
Backup and Restore
Create a backup of all the data from your server clusters.
To create a backup:
On the left pane of your GCM account, go to Constellation Management > Backup and Restore.
At the top right corner, click Create new backup. A panel appears.
Add a name for the backup. Note: If there is an existing backup with the same name, it will be overwritten.
Optional: Enable the checkbox to include media files if you want.
From the Cluster drop-down, select the cluster of servers you want to back up.
Click Create. A backup with the current timestamp will be created.
Disenroll
If you have on-premise servers you can disenroll them from GCM if required.
To disenroll your servers from GCM:
Log in to your Userful account.
Go to Admin Center > System Configuration > General Settings.
Disable Global Cluster Manager Pairing.
A dialogue appears for confirmation. Click Confirm.
