Userful Infinity Platform Installation
Only IT administrators and Userful Infinity platform admins are authorized to do a new installation of the Userful Infinity Platform. Please get in touch with the Userful Technical Support team for assistance.
Userful Infinity Installation
Pre-requisites
Server Connections
Make sure that your server is connected to the power supply.
Use an HDMI cable and connect the GPU out port to your destination's in port.
Ensure that all system components share the same LAN network. System components include servers, uClient devices, destinations, etc.
Installation Media
The Userful Infinity Platform ISO image file. Contact Userful Sales or Support for this.
A USB Flash Drive with a storage capacity of 8.5 GB or higher.
A USB installer creator with DD write mode.
I. Create the Installer
Using an accredited ISO imaging software with DD mode, create a bootable installation media of the Userful Infinity Platform ISO image.
To create the installer, you need the Userful Infinity ISO image, imaging software like Rufus, and an empty USB flash drive. Contact Userful Sales or Support and download the latest ISO image of Userful Infinity. Userful Infinity ISO file is 8.5 GB in size.
Recommended
Verify the MD5SUM of the downloaded file to ensure you have a valid image. The MD5 is available at the same download location as the file.
To check the MD5SUM of the downloaded ISO:
Open the MD5SUM file with Notepad.
Run the following command in the Windows command prompt:
The resulting output should match the contents of the MD5 file. If it does not match, retry the download.
To create the installer:
Insert the USB into your computer.
Download Rufus and run it. Suggestion: You could also use Raspberry Pi image maker or Etcher.
Select the USB drive you want to use.
Click SELECT and select the ISO.
Click START.
Select DD mode from the two available options.
Wait for the process to finish and eject the drive.
II. Install Userful Infinity
Insert the installation media into the server.
Reboot the server, and watch for the messages on the boot.
Enter the Boot menu and select Boot from USB.
Click on the software (.ISO) file option. The Userful installation screen appears.
Click Install Userful <latest version> . The system begins to load its initial files.
Select your language and click Continue.
In the Installation Summary screen, select your Keyboard, language, time and date settings.
Click Installation Destination to modify the destination in which the application is installed.
Click Network & Host name to configure your network settings and edit your hostname.
Click Done. The Installation Summary Screen appears.
Click Begin Installation.
After installation is complete, click Reboot System.
III. Initial Setup
After the system reboots post installation, the Initial Setup screen appears.
Create a password for the admin account. Note: The default username for admin is
admin
. This cannot be changed. Note: If the admin sets up a failover server in future, they must use the same password created in this step to set up the failover server.
Click Submit. The Site Creation screen appears.
Enter the Access URL. This URL will be used to access the Userful Infinity Platform by all users.
If you have a domain, use the toggle to enable https. Else, go to step 5.
a. Enter your entire domain name including the subdomain.
b. Upload your SSL Certificate Body.
c. Upload your SSL Certificate Private Key. Note: Ensure that the access URL is in the same domain as the SSL Certificate.
Click Finalize. The Userful login screen appears.
Sign in to the Userful Infinity platform with your credentials.
