LG Web OS Setup

Pre-requisites

Before you set up your LG Web OS devices:

  1. You should have set up your system based on the Network Design Requirements for Userful Infinity.

  2. You should have your LG WebOS devices unboxed, mounted and powered, with internet access.

Recommended:

It is strongly recommended that you perform a factory reset on your new device first.

Perform a Factory Reset

  1. Press the Settings button on the remote.

  2. Navigate to the Admin tab.

  3. Enable Admin settings.

  4. The default admin password for WebOS 4.0 displays is 000000 (six zeroes).

  5. Click on the Factory Reset option.

  6. The device will be reset.

Set up network

  1. Press the Settings button on the remote.

  2. Navigate to the General tab.

  3. Open the Network section.

  4. Enable the Wired Connection option.

Note: LG displays support wireless connections. These are not recommended for video wall operations.

Set the Time Zone

  1. Press the Settings button on the remote.

  2. Navigate to the General tab.

  3. Open the Time & Date option and set your local time zone.

  4. Enable the NTP option and ensure the clock is correct. Ensure that all the displays are set to identical settings.

Disable Tile Mode

uClient uses its own display settings, so it is necessary to ensure this feature is disabled on all displays before installing the uClient.

  1. Open the Settings menu and navigate to the EZ Setting.

  2. Click on the Video Wall option.

  3. Ensure that the Tile Mode is Off. Repeat these steps for all the displays.

Install the uClient application

  1. Press the Settings button on the remote.

  2. Navigate to EZ Settings.

  3. Navigate to the SI Server option.

  4. Select the SI Server option.

  5. Enable the Fully Qualified Domain Name option.

  6. Enter the address http://uclient.ws and press the Enter key.

  7. Change the Application Launch Mode to Local.

  8. Change the Application Type to IPK.

  9. Under the Local Application Upgrade option, select Remote and install the uClient application.

  10. Click Confirm.

  11. Wait for the download to complete and the application to install. This process should take less than one minute.

  12. After installation is complete, turn off the display.

  13. Wait for 10 seconds and turn it on. The display should auto-launch the uClient application after a few seconds and display a screen with the IP address of the display and a pairing code.

  14. In your Userful Infinity account, navigate to Admin Center > System Configuration > Endpoints.

  15. Look for the IP address of the Web OS displays in the endpoints list and enable the toggle for Assigned Server.
