User Management
To have a clear understanding of user management in Userful Infinity, knowledge of user groups and clearance levels is necessary.
In Userful Infinity:
Access to the apps (Decisions, Trends, Artistic, Engage, Spaces, Remote) is controlled by user group permissions.
Access to the six resources (Sources, Destinations, Mapping Groups, Operation Centers, Playlists and Remote channels) is controlled by clearance levels.
User groups
In Userful Infinity, a user does not have any access permissions unless they are part of a user group. Application access permissions come with user groups. The admin can create user groups and enable permissions to access the different applications (see image below).
Clearance levels
Access to the six resources in Userful Infinity - Sources, Destinations, Mapping Groups, Operations Centers, Playlists, and Remote channels are managed and secured by clearance levels.
Every time you create a resource, you can specify the clearance levels for which the resource should be accessible.
There are two types of clearance levels: Edit and Execute.
The Edit clearance level lets you edit the name and other specifications of a resource.
The Execute clearance level lets you use the resource–for example, drag and drop a Source to a Canvas.
How are clearance levels linked to user groups?
To make resources available to users, clearance levels can be assigned to user groups.
It is also worth noting that every time a user group is created, corresponding Edit and Execute clearance levels are automatically created. These clearance levels also appear in the Permissions tab during new resource creation, so that access to the resource can be enabled for the clearance level if required.
Add a user
Failover and user accounts
Remember to ensure failover is configured before you create and add users.
If a failover is not configured, the user accounts you create will not be synced to your secondary server. This will put you at the risk of losing user data if failover happens.
After a failover is configured, user accounts created on the primary server are automatically synced to the secondary server. However, the user accounts will only appear on the secondary server when failover is triggered.
In your Userful Infinity account, navigate to Admin Center > User Management.
Click Users in the left pane.
Click Create new user at the top right corner.
Add a unique username, the first name and the last name of the user.
Enter the email address and create a password. The user will need to create a new password when they log in for the first time. Note: The password must contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one special character, one number and a minimum of 8 alphanumeric characters. The password must not contain username, firstname or lastname. Allowed special characters: @$!%*#?&-.
Assign the user to the relevant user groups and click Save.

Create clearance level
Clearance levels are automatically generated when you create a user group. However, you can also create clearance groups on your own. Creating a single clearance level generates two types-Edit and Execute of the same clearance level. In your Userful Infinity account, navigate to Admin Center > User Management.
Click Clearance levels in the left pane.
Click Create Clearance level in the top right corner.
Add a name and description for your clearance level.
Select the user groups that should be able to use the clearance level. The selected user groups will have access to the Userful Infinity resources that the clearance level has access to.

In your Userful Infinity account, navigate to Admin Center > User Management > Clearance levels.
