Migrate Operations Center

1. Click on the Migrate option. A side menu appears, listing all the previously created operations centers.

2. Click on the Migrate option. The migrated operations centers appear on the Operations Centers screen. Click on any operation center to get started.

Operations Center WorksThe Operations Center workspace is the core of the Decisions application. It allows you to edit and manage sources, destinations, and layouts. Toolbar

Operations Center Name It displays the operations center name you are working on. To switch to another operations center click on the arrow against the name. A drop-down menu appears listing all the operations centers. Click to switch to the desired center.

Canvas

It displays a canvas (with grids) on which sources are arranged. The sources displayed on this are Active Sources.

Decisions is a robust application with extensive capabilities. The high-level journey to set up an Operations Center is covered in the following four steps.

1. Create a Source

1. Click on the option. The create source menu appears.

Note: This example shows how to configure Network Streamer as the Source Type from a list of available options. To know more about different types of sources, refer to the Sources section.

2. Configure a Source:

• Enter the Name and Description. For example, Operations Data Center. Note: This example shows how to configure Network Streamer as the Source Type from a list of available options. To know more about different types of sources, refer to the Sources section.

• Select the Source Type as Network Streamer.

• Select a thumbnail

• Select the Protocol, for example, RTSP.

• Enter the Server Path.

• Enter the buffer amount. It is the time after which the call to refresh the content is made.

• Enter the Username and Password if the stream requires authorized access

• .Enable or Disable audio. You can adjust the volume once the source is created.

  

Advanced Tab

• Enter the Resolution. It is the resolution of the destination at which the content will be played.

• Select Scaling, as per the aspect ratio of the destination. The source is scaled so that the border of the image and the entire image are visible inside the display. This most often results in black bands above and below the image. Stretch Full Screen The source is scaled so that the entire image is visible on the display. This means the video's aspect ratio is stretched horizontally and vertically to match the display's aspect ratio. Zoom Full Screen The source is scaled so that some image is outside the display (cropped). This eliminates the black banding on the display, but it means that either the horizontal or vertical outside edges of the video will not be visible to the user.

• Enable the Sharable option.

• When the source is used for streaming content, and the Sharable option is enabled, the server generates one source instance and shares it across applications. For example, if you create 2 sources with the same parameters and map the sources to the canvas or mapping group, the server only creates 1 running instance of the sources. This helps in resource utilization.

Permissions Tab

• App Permissions Select uControl- It allows the uControl application to access this source.

• User Permissions Select the users that can access the operations center.

• Select the Apps to share the source with.

• Select or Create a Tag for easy access to the Source. To create a Tag, click on the Tag drop-down menu. A cursor appears. Enter the name of the Tag and press the Enter key. The Tag gets created. Tags help sort the source when there are multiple sources.

• Enable User Permissions for the source. These user permissions are set using the Clearance Level feature. Use the Page navigation feature to view other permissions.
• Click . The source appears in the Sources Panel.

2. Map Destination and Source to a Canvas

1. Drag and drop the destination from the destinations panel to the canvas to create a new Active Destination Canvas.

   
2. The destination appears in the Active Destinations side menu.
3. Click on the Grid Settings option to configure the grid. Provide the number of rows, columns, and row gaps (if required). Note that the row gap increases the gap between grid cells in pixels.

4. Click on the option. The grid gets configured on the canvas.
5. Switch to the Sources panel and drag and drop the sources to the canvas.

Actions

1. Free Resizing Enable this option to resize the source horizontally and vertically without constraint. To resize, drag (left-click and hold) the corners of the source on the canvas to the desired position.
2. Locked current aspect ratio when resizing Enable this option to resize the source across canvas, keeping the current aspect ratio in account.
3. Locked original aspect ratio when resizing Enable this option to resize the source content according to the original aspect ratio, i.e., the ratio in which it is captured or saved as in the file.
4. Free Move Use this option to arrange sources anywhere on the canvas. To resize, drag (left-click and hold) the corners of the source on the canvas to the desired position.

8. Grid Snapping Use this option to snap the source to fit a grid cell. Double-click on the source to resize it to cover the grids’ cell(s) borders automatically.

   

When disabled, you can arrange the sources overlapping grid lines on your canvas.

When double-clicked source snaps to fit the grid cell.

9. Collapse All Mode Enable to hide the Active Destination, Active Source, and Sources and Destination panel.
10. Play Live View Enable to view a live preview of the source's content mapped to the canvas. Click on this option again to stop the live view.
11. Delete It deletes the operation center.

Additional Functions

• The button locks the source from further modifications.
• The activateand the deactivateoption enables and disables the preview of the source mapped source, respectively. To unmap the source, click on the delete option present on the active source card or click on the option present in the three-dot menu.
• The three-dot menu provides the following options:

  Rename active source Use this option to modify the name of the source. Audio To configure the audio, use the audio scroll bar or click on the audio option to mute or unmute the audio. Delete To unmap the source, click on the delete option on the active source card or the option present in the three-dot menu.
• Edit Source To edit the source settings, click the Edit option on the source card.
• Interactive Viewer You can add mouse and keyboard control for Soft-KVM functionality to interact with the interactive sources. Click on the interactive viewer option. A small pop-up window appears showing the content being streamed. Click on the option to open the interactive viewer in a new tab.

A Disabled Interactive Viewer icon denotes that you can not interact with the source. For example, a live stream.

Free Move

Use this option to arrange sources anywhere on the canvas. To resize drag (left-click and hold) the corners of the source on the canvas to the desired position.

Active Source Alignment

It helps align active sources by showing grid lines.

Grid Snapping

When enabled the source completely covers the grid lines when you resize the source.

When disabled you can arrange the sources overlapping grid lines on your canvas.

Note: Double-click on the source card and the source card automatically fits the grid.

Stream to Remote Channels

Enable this option to convert mapped sources as an HLS stream viewable from any channel of the Remote application.

• Enable the HLS Stream option.

• Add the Channel from the list of channels by clicking on the icon.
• Click . The content gets added as a stream to the channel.
• Navigate to Remote > Channels. The stream gets added as an available stream.
• Admins can view stream details through Manage Channels.

  

Disable the option to discontinue streaming sources to the Remote application. Also, note that content from only one application can be streamed to the Remote channel at once.

Play Live View

Click on this to preview a live view of the selected resource.

Grid Setting

Use this option to configure your canvas's grid. Edit the rows and columns values to add new rows and columns. You can also introduce a gap between rows and columns (in pixels) by editing the Rows Gap and Columns Gap value. Click on the Change Grid option to change the grid settings.

Delete Operations Center

It deletes the operations center.

• On the destination card, the Warning icon denotes that the destination is currently streaming content. Hover over the icon for more details. Please re-assign only after due diligence, as reassigning content stops the playback of the previous mapping.
